The only way to access the living room in question is via the existing stairs. Since the furnishing and the former disposition was a bit dated, the client wanted a new fresher look to the space. Also, due to the high living room ceiling the client’s wish was to add a platform and increase the floor area of the apartment.

The old staircase was replaced with a new, lighter one. The platform was created and is now used as a home office/storage room with the additional function of a guest bedroom if necessary.
